The complete Namibia experience.

Ultimate Namibia is the definitive self-drive experience — 18 days, 10 destinations, and every iconic landscape Namibia has to offer. This is the route for travellers who want to understand Namibia completely. Not just the famous highlights, but the places in between: the remote south with its canyon and ghost towns, the wild and rarely-visited Skeleton Coast, the haunting drive through the Namib to Lüderitz.
It begins in the Kalahari's red dunes and ends at Waterberg Plateau, taking in Fish River Canyon — Africa's largest — the eerily beautiful ghost town of Kolmanskop, the world's oldest desert at Sossusvlei, the Atlantic coast at Swakopmund, the fog-shrouded Skeleton Coast, desert elephant in Damaraland and finally the extraordinary wildlife of Etosha.
Accorto Travel manages every element of this complex multi-destination route — from NWR bookings to remote southern accommodation — and provides a dedicated personal coordinator for the duration of your trip.
Airport collection, vehicle handover, luxury hotel in Windhoek. Meet your dedicated Accorto Travel coordinator. Briefing dinner.
Drive south-east into the red dunes of the Kalahari. Meerkats, sociable weavers, cheetah and the extraordinary red sand landscape that starts the journey dramatically.
Africa's largest canyon. The viewpoint at sunset is among the most dramatic landscapes in southern Africa. Two nights with time to absorb the immensity of the canyon at different times of day.
Drive to this remote German colonial town on the Atlantic. Visit Kolmanskop — a ghost town being slowly swallowed by desert sand. A hauntingly beautiful photography destination unlike anything else in Africa.
Drive north through the Namib. Two days at Sossusvlei — pre-sunrise Deadvlei, dune climbing, Sesriem Canyon. The world's oldest desert in all its dramatic glory.
Two nights on the coast. Ocean air, world-class seafood, Walvis Bay flamingos and optional activities — sandboarding, sea kayaking, dolphin cruises.
Drive north along the wild Atlantic. Cape Cross seal colony, dramatic foggy seascapes, wrecked ships on the shore. One of the most atmospheric drives in Namibia.
Ancient volcanic rock formations, Twyfelfontein UNESCO rock engravings, desert elephant tracking. Two nights in a dramatic wilderness setting.
Three full days in Etosha. Multiple camps, self-drive game drives morning and evening, floodlit night waterhole viewing. The best wildlife viewing of the entire trip.
A final night at Waterberg Plateau — white rhino, giraffe and dramatic sandstone scenery. Return to Windhoek on Day 18. Farewell dinner before departure.
Ultimate Namibia visits every major destination in Namibia — the Kalahari, Fish River Canyon, Lüderitz, Kolmanskop ghost town, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, the Skeleton Coast, Damaraland, Etosha and Waterberg Plateau. No other package covers this breadth. It's designed for travellers who want to know Namibia, not just see it.
Fish River Canyon is the largest canyon in Africa — 160km long, 27km wide and up to 550 metres deep. It is the second largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. The sunset viewpoint is one of the most dramatic landscapes in southern Africa and a highlight that many visitors find more powerful than the Namib dunes.
Kolmanskop is a ghost town near Lüderitz — a former German diamond mining settlement abandoned in the 1950s and now being slowly consumed by desert sand. Rooms are buried to window level. It is one of the most photographically extraordinary places in Africa and completely unlike anything else on any Namibia itinerary.
The Skeleton Coast is Namibia's wild northern Atlantic coast — remote, fog-shrouded and dramatic. Cape Cross seal colony (one of the largest in the world), shipwrecks on the shore, the meeting of Namib desert and ocean. A rarely-visited and extraordinarily atmospheric part of Namibia.
17 nights luxury accommodation, a 4x4 vehicle rental, all park fees throughout, selected activities at each destination, a dedicated personal coordinator, airport assistance, a detailed day-by-day itinerary and Accorto Travel support throughout. International flights, travel insurance, meals and personal expenses are not included.
Yes. 18 days is the minimum to do justice to every destination on this route. The pace is relaxed — you spend meaningful time at each stop. Some driving days are longer (up to 6 hours on good roads) but the scenery throughout the drive is extraordinary. Read our self-drive guide for more.
