Wildlife and wilderness at the heart of your journey.

Wild Namibia puts Africa's wildlife front and centre. Over eight days, you'll move through three distinct ecosystems, each offering a different dimension of Namibia's extraordinary natural world. Etosha National Park — one of Africa's premier wildlife destinations — anchors the route, with its salt pan, floodlit night waterholes and some of the most accessible game viewing on the continent.
Damaraland adds desert-adapted wildlife: elephant that survive in near-waterless conditions, the critically endangered black rhino, and landscapes so vast and ancient they feel like another planet. The route ends in Swakopmund, where ocean air and a completely different energy provide the perfect contrast to days in the bush.
Every booking on this route — Etosha camps, Damaraland accommodation and vehicle — is coordinated by Accorto Travel. You arrive with everything confirmed.
Airport collection and transfer to accommodation. Windhoek orientation and first evening in Namibia.
Three days in Etosha. Enter via Anderson's Gate. Self-drive game drives morning and evening. Floodlit waterhole viewing at night — the best lion, elephant and rhino sightings happen after dark. Two to three camps visited across the park.
Drive south into Damaraland. Twyfelfontein UNESCO rock engravings, Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain. Desert-adapted elephant tracking. Vast, dramatic landscapes unlike anywhere else in Namibia.
Drive to the coast. Two nights in Swakopmund — ocean air, fresh seafood, optional coastal activities. Depart on Day 8 or continue with an extension.
Etosha is exceptional for elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. The floodlit night waterholes produce some of the most dramatic wildlife encounters in Africa. Damaraland adds desert-adapted elephant and black rhino in a completely different setting.
Wild Namibia is a self-drive safari. You drive yourself through Etosha at your own pace — stopping at waterholes for as long as you want when wildlife is active. A 4x4 vehicle is included. This gives you far more flexibility than guided group tours.
June to October is the dry season — the best time for Etosha wildlife. Animals concentrate at waterholes and sightings are exceptional. Read our NWR Booking Guide for timing advice and booking strategies.
Yes. Self-drive Etosha is excellent for families — children are safe in the vehicle and wildlife viewing is exciting for all ages. NWR camps accommodate children of all ages. For a dedicated family itinerary, see our Namibia Family Adventure.
Namibia has lion, leopard, elephant and rhino — four of the Big Five. Buffalo are present in Namibia but less commonly seen on this route. Etosha offers some of Africa's best lion, elephant and rhino sightings.
